NDIS funding covers the disability support costs required to participate in beach rides and coastal activities, rather than the ticket or entry fee itself. Depending on whether you are looking at horseback riding on the beach, camel rides, or using beach wheelchairs and accessible transport, funding comes out of different sections of your NDIS plan. How NDIS Funding Works for Beach ActivitiesSupport Workers: Covered under Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation (Core Budgets). This covers your worker’s time to take you, assist you during the ride, and keep you safe.Out-of-Pocket Costs: Tickets, horse rental, or general venue entry fees cannot be paid with NDIS funds. These must be paid using personal money.Equipment & Assistive Tech: If you beach frequently, customized beach wheelchairs or rollators can sometimes be fully funded under Capital Support if it aligns with your primary plan goals.
