Development of daily living and life skills
Overview
Development of Daily Living & Life Skills services are tailored training and capacity-building supports designed to foster independence. For participants, this includes mastering household management (e.g., cooking, budgeting, and laundry), travel training, personal care routines, and social communication skills.
Key capabilities developed through these services include:
Household & Financial Management: Training in grocery shopping, meal preparation,
paying bills, and budgeting.
Travel Training: Learning to plan routes, understand road safety, and use local public transport independently.
Personal Care: Developing routines for hygiene, grooming, and self-care.
Social & Communication Skills: Enhancing interactions with service providers, peers, and the broader community.
Participants work with ANNS to undergo an initial needs assessment, create a personalized development plan, and work one-on-one or in groups to achieve their long-term independent living goals.
